EXALO Drilling SA executes more drilling works in Pakistan

Oil and natural gas are two key sources of energy to meet nearly 80% of the annual needs of the whole national economy of Pakistan. In recent years the country has significantly developed its gas sector, and the research and exploration of new deposits provided to the discovery of significant natural gas resources. It is estimated that the recoverable reserves amount to approx. 620 billion m3 (five times more than in Poland). Despite the general decline in drilling industry in the world, in October 2016 on Pakistani market were working 30 drilling rigs for 8 of domestic and foreign operators. Gas has become the main direction of the pro-energy activities of the local government, seeking to return to a state of energy self-sufficiency. It is worth to noting that getting the success of exploration in Pakistan is estimated as 3:1, which results in a high probability of highly profitable exploration projects.In 2016 EXALO Drilling SA on the Pakistani market has executed drilling works by four drilling rigs and drilling crews:

  • IRI 1700 - drilled 4 wells for Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) and drills another well for the operator
  • IDM 2000 - ended deep well (5067m) for MOL Pakistan Oil and Gas, and started drill a new well (the plan-4800 m.) for this operator
  • Drillmec 2000 (rig 305) - drills a deep well (plan-5470 m) for Pakistan Oilfields Limited 
  • Drillmec 2000 (rig 304) - finished drilling (depth-4066 m) for KUFPEC and currently drills horizontal well Rehman-3
